Wainscoting

The best way to have a whole wall stand out is to add physical features to it. With Wainscoting it adds dimension to the wall in different ways. We break it down into 3 categories or versions. There is a “Raised Panel” wainscoting which actually uses stiles and rails and wood pieces to elevate off the wall. This can also have panel molding added to add depth and design. This is also known as board and batten. Secondly there is a “Flat panel” also know as “Beaded” style. Generally there are no stiles in this type some type and a wooden bead board is used instead. Lastly we have a “Panel Molding” style. This version is different because there are no wooden stiles used here. This version needs the wall texture to be absolutely perfect and smooth before beginning. Then thin chair rail or other thinner style molding is added to the wall to create the box shapes.
